Cladding installation in Maidenhead

“Do it once and do it right” has always been Summit Cladding’s motto. We say there’s no point in doing an installation if it doesn’t stand the test of time.

And that’s one thing we can guarantee when clients come to us, looking for a permanent solution to those leaking walls and rotting timbers. Hardieplank cladding really does the business.
Our client, Mariah, had been living in her timber-clad house in beautiful Maidenhead, Berkshire, for 15 years, and was getting fed up with hiring decorators every time the woodwork needed some care and attention.

Mariah had spent thousands of pounds over the years trying to find decorators who would do a better job than the last lot. With so much of her property covered in timber cladding, it was a long and arduous task for any contractor, and access was always a problem.

Natural grained finish

When people think about removing old timber cladding and replacing it with composite board, one of their main concerns is that it won’t look genuine. But we can reassure customers that Hardieplank has a natural-looking grained finish that varies from board to board, so it looks like real timber. Add that to the many different colours available and you’re guaranteed to find the right image for every property.

We started the installation by removing all the old timber, most of which fortunately, was to be recycled by neighbours. Then we fitted a Kingspan insulation board to make the house more energy efficient.

Finishing touches important

Next, a breathable aluminium trim was fitted to allow a continuous flow of air behind the new Hardieplank boards, in the popular colour Anthracite. We completed the installation by fitting Anthracite corner angles over the edge of the roof to hide the old aluminium roof trims – which our clients hadn’t been expecting! — and the final finishing touch was to fit a white tongue and groove soffit by the front door.

Mariah was delighted that her house is now the envy of her neighbours, with no more worries about maintenance, as once again we at Summit Cladding have lived up to our motto to “do it once and do it right.”
