Summit Cladding – “Mum’s” house in Southgate
Summit cladding have been specialising in replacement fascias and soffits for over 30 years, but a lot has changed over that time.
The choice of materials available was very limited in the early days and we originally imported pvc profiles from Belgium. Now, though, the choice and colour of material is much wider.
We can supply new fascias and soffits in almost every colour you can imagine and although grey is all the rage now, who knows what the fashionistas will want next year?
A job for mum
Being in business for so many years – and with recommendations producing almost half our business — we were delighted when one of our former clients introduced us to his mum, who lived in a 1930s property in New Southgate.
Our client’s mum had all her fascias painted three years ago at considerable cost, but when the decorator had finished, he told her that she really should have had them replaced! Not very thoughtful of him, was it?
When Summit Cladding came to look at the job, our client insisted that the house should retain the curved V-shaped infill sections on the gable end, in keeping with the 1930s period.
With that brief in mind, Summit removed all the old timber and installed Eurocell black ash foiled replacement fascia and soffits, creating bespoke curved mock beams to the centre of the apex.
The house looks exactly as it did when it was built in the 1930s — but with the crucial difference that the replacements will never need any maintenance – and will certainly never need painting.
The installation took only a day to complete and the result was one happy mum!
