New fascias, soffits and bargeboards in Willesden, North West London
January 29, 2018 1:11 pmLike many of our clients, Eilish and Kevin from Willesden got in touch with Summit Cladding after seeing us working on a neighbour’s house. And they had a problem they hoped we could solve for them.
They had been gradually restoring their house ever since they moved in 20 years ago. The inside was looking magnificent. But outside, it was a different story.
Even though they had invested a lot of money, with new windows and doors, the property was lacking the “wow factor.”
Too high for ladders
The reason? All the wooden fascias and soffits were beyond repair and the problem facing Eilish and Kevin was how to get access to the roofline.
As with many similar properties, there are dormers in the roof and tiled areas on lower elevations, making it impossible to reach with ladders.
Our clients had received estimates of over £2000 just to erect scaffolding and because no contractor will guarantee paintwork beyond five years, they didn’t like the idea of spending this sort of money on a regular basis.
No need for paint
At our first meeting I showed Eilish and Kevin a black fascia board that looked exactly like wood, but unlike paint this has a manufacturer’s guarantee of 10 years — so they realised that this was the product they’d been looking for.
By working with a scaffolding company we have dealt with for many years, Summit Cladding put together a schedule for our clients that meant there would be no more expensive decorating once we had completed our work – and all for a very attractive price compared with ongoing painting.
We also fitted new guttering and downpipes that are much more efficient than the originals.
The installation took seven days to complete and Eilish and Kevin are delighted that our makeover has made the outside of their home as smart and attractive as the inside.
