The Coronavirus lockdown has been a massive challenge for businesses and traders, but Summit Cladding is still open and getting the work done.

We have just completed our first installation since the restrictions were introduced, taking extra care to observe the government’s guidelines on social distancing.

When we first met our clients six weeks ago, at their home in Great Dunmow, Essex, before the lockdown started, they had just had their windows replaced and were keen to have new gutters and fascias to match them.

Wide range of colours

Their chosen colour was Anthracite Grey number 7016, one of a large range available on the so-called RAL Chart, which always comes up with an exact match.

One of the consequences of the lockdown has been the disruption to supply chains, with some of the main manufacturers stopping deliveries to their distributors. But Summit Cladding has been trading for over 30 years and thanks to the relationship we have built with our suppliers we can still access materials at present.

This installation involved removing all the existing wooden fascias, soffits and gutters on the property and fitting replacements in the chosen colour, including deep flow guttering and downpipes. We also fitted a hidden over-fascia vent to allow air circulation around the eaves.

Observing social distancing

Summit Cladding’s two teams of expert fitters are family members living together, so they were able to work within the social distancing guidelines and the job could be completed without the need for physical contact with our clients.

The installation took seven days to complete and our clients were delighted with the result, not only with the new look for their house, but also grateful that we could do the work during the lockdown.
